Attitude Of Gratitude || Print

Created in a three part series in the year of 2017- only two of the three survived the test of time.
This painting is a self portrait in expression of my self image at the time. My favorite painting to have ever created and it took around 4- 6 months to create. You can see the immense amount of detail from the dress to the hair to the accent background. I intended to embody the beauty of blackness in the height of BLM, and fear around injustice. In my world of being a young woman I utilized my art heavily to be an escapism and powerful movement for the frustration and passion I had for being who I was and at the same time who I was perceived to be.
